The incident happened in a video on Marjorie Harvey’s Instagram, where she and Steve were playfully cutting fruit in the kitchen. While joking about an argument with her husband over vegetable cutting, Marjorie used the offensive term. However, her choice of words caused a major controversy, prompting Steve Harvey to intervene.

In the video, Marjorie can be heard saying, “I’m sitting here arguing with my husband, ’cause clearly he thinks I’m retarded [and] I don’t know how to cut a beet.” This clip garnered over 400,000 views on Instagram, where Marjorie boasts 1.7 million followers as a fashion and lifestyle blogger.

Many of Marjorie’s followers showed their disappointment and outrage at her use of the derogatory term. Some highlighted the harmful impact such language has on individuals with cognitive disabilities and their families. In spite of backlash, some supporters dismissed the criticism as excessive political correctness.

To defend his wife’s use of the word, Steve Harvey argued it was not meant to offend and that people were overreacting. He expressed frustration with what he perceived as an overly sensitive response from the public.

The incident raised questions about the public’s reaction to offensive language and the boundaries of political correctness. Some felt the outrage was justified, but others believed it was blown out of proportion. Ultimately, the controversy emphasized the importance of sensitivity and respect when using language, particularly in a public setting.

It’s always heartbreaking to see a dog having a tumor, especially one that has gone unchecked and untreated. Tumors can grow sh0ckingly large, leading to a great deal of discomfort for these poor animals.

Like one dog, who was surrendered to a shelter with a massive tumor, but with some kind rescuers, this dog has now gotten a second chance.

A dog called Hattie was surrendered by her owners to a local shelter, and they were in sh0ck to see the massive tumor on the dog’s side.

The owner was apparently surrendering Hattie for eu:than:asi:a, but instead Hattie was given a second chance. Needing a lot of care, she was taken to Dallas DogRRR – Rescue.Rehab.Reform, who were shocked by the dog’s condition.

In a post on Facebook they said it “may be the worst owner surrender we have taken in,” and said Hattie’s owners let the tumor grow for two years without doing anything about it. No charges were filed.

While Hattie’s health was clearly neglected by her family, she was now in good hands. The rescue scheduled Hattie a surgery with Vet Ranch.

In spite of everything she went through, vets found Hattie to be in good spirits. A vet explained that she has learned to live with the massive weight on her side

“It’s just so sad to me that she’s used to just dealing with this,” Hattie’s vet said in a video shared by Vet Clinic. “She just goes day in and day out dealing with this like it’s a bean bag chair, even though she has this on her.”

Vets performed the surgery to remove the giant tumor. Dr. Karri of vet ranch wrote on Facebook that it took “three hours to get that beast off,” but the surgery was a success and Hattie was “resting comfortably.”

“She was 41 lbs and now only weighs 26!” the vet wrote. “I can’t wait to see how her personality changes without carrying this burden anymore.”

After Hattie’s story went viral on the social media, followers asked for an update about Hattie’s health — and Dallas DogRRR reported that the sweet dog had a very happy ending.

They wrote that in the year since Hattie’s “bowling ball size tumor” was removed, she has found a loving home!

“She was happily adopted, and once again, a lost and abandoned animal has found their happy ending,” the rescue wrote.

Photos show Hattie in her new home: she seems happy and comfortable and has another dog to play with.

 

Barry Gibb and his son Stephen Gibb gave a spectacular performance of the Bee Gees’ song “I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You,” leaving the crowd greatly moved.

The duet was performed on June 4, 2014, in the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles as part of Barry’s Mythology Tour, as a tribute to his late brothers and fellow Bee Gees members Robin and Maurice Gibb.

The song, published in 1968, became the Bee Gees’ second number-one single on the UK Singles Chart. It was written by Robin Gibb and depicts the moving story of a man on execution row requesting a farewell message to be sent to his loved one. After learning that this was his passion, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He enjoyed feeling good about his lifestyle. This later encouraged him to assist others achieve their fitness and weight loss objectives in the healthiest way possible.

2006: A Time When Facebook Was Just Developing

The two discovered a passion for the same subject but on different roads. But how did they meet?

Essentially, the two met on Facebook in 2006 while in college, when the network was aimed more towards connecting people, notably boys meeting girls.

Dan was sitting in front of the computer one night, looking through friends of friends for girls who appeared to be interested in him.

Messaging Wendy for the First Time

He discovered Wendy while scrolling through some friends of friends on his Facebook excursion. He thought she was lovely and fun, so he decided to send her a note on Facebook.

When she saw the message, her first thought was, “I don’t know you, I did not trust the internet, people from the internet… but he was still cute.”

As Dan and Wendy explained in their video STORY TIME: HOW WE MET, meeting people on the internet was still considered taboo, particularly in the early days of Facebook. So she decided to confide in her friend Daphne.

However, what Daphne had to say about Dan surprised her.

“D” is for Determined

Wendy told her friend Daphne that a guy named “Dan Hennessey” messaged her on Facebook, and Daphne couldn’t believe who he was after seeing his images.

He appears to have messaged Daphne that evening as well – whoops! Wendy assumed she would not react to his message at this moment.

Dan, on the other hand, “D” is determined. He contacted her again a few weeks later. Wendy determined after a little Facebook stalking that he appeared like a normal person because he was connected to numerous of her high school acquaintances.

“If She Did Say Yes, We Would Have Created One”

The two began talking and appeared to have a great rapport. But it was finally time for them to make the ultimate step from “online” to “in person”. So, what did Dan choose to do?

As one of his college basketball teammates, he felt it would be a wonderful idea for them to meet at a party in his building.

“There was no party,” Dan said in their YouTube video years later, “but if she did say yes, we would have created one.”

And that is exactly what occurred. Wendy accepted the invitation, and Dan started preparing the celebration.

The First Moment They Met

So, who said chivalry had d.i.e.d? Dan was arranging a complete party for a girl he’d never met in person. Not only that, but he made sure to inform all of his buddies about the situation between him and Wendy.

“Everybody knew what the deal was. And who was coming. I’m sure [the girls] did the same thing.”

Wendy brought a few friends as backup and was pleasantly surprised when she arrived at the party. Dan greeted Wendy with a joyful smile as she waited for someone to open the door when they arrived.

Their eyes connected, and she felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she realized he was something unique.

“I’m Gonna Make You Say You Love Me”

The first time they met was extremely fantastic. Dan’s first impressions were, “she looked way better than her pictures.” That meant something because there were no filters back then. Dan was as impressed by Wendy’s actual beauty as she was by his wonderful smile.

Even after the celebration had ended, the two kept talking and dancing all night.

They danced to Chris Brown’s song “Ain’t No Way” at the end of the night, when it was just the two of them. And he sung the line “I’m gonna make you say you love me.”

And little did she realize that she would actually say those three words a few months later!

Putting Their Bond on the Back Burner

When it comes to dating and committed relationships, time is essential. Wendy had a terrific time with Dan at his party, although she was still coming out of a long-term relationship.

Fortunately, Dan and Wendy’s pals got along well, too. So the two of them would hang out all the time, even though she wasn’t interested in dating Dan at the moment.

It wasn’t until one specific text message that the modest backburn fire lit up the whole kitchen.

A Dinner That Changed Everything

He immediately responded and asked that they hang out. Wendy agreed that it needed to happen, so they agreed to meet for dinner.

Throughout the previous few months of their acquaintance, there has been an underlying train of romantic tension between them. This supper turned out to be much more than just a casual catch-up.

Dan, being the bold risk-taker he is, went ahead and officially “asked Wendy out” at this dinner.

When they originally met, she wasn’t ready to get back into a relationship, but was she now?

Michael Douglas has won numerous accolades for his acting and directing endeavors.

In the same vein as his father, Kirk Douglas, the actor has received international fame. However, when the singer was diagnosed with a terminal disease, his entire life was turned upside down.

The BAFTA-winning actor began his career in the late 1960s and found enormous success with the film adaptation of the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. He also made headlines for his marriage to actress Catherine Zeta Jones.

Douglas, on the other hand, struggled with what he initially thought was throat cancer, far apart from his demanding work schedule and glamorous Hollywood lifestyle.

Despite the gravity of his situation, the star stated in an open interview about his health problems that he never expected to d.i.e.

“It’s strange, I know, but I never considered dying during the entire course of chemotherapy and radiation,” he added.

“My mother d.i.e.d at the age of 92,” he remarked.

My father just turned 102 years old. I never paid any heed to d3ath or aging.

Speaking with fellow actor Samuel L Jackson, Douglas stated that his specialist advised him to issue a statement stating that he has throat can:cer, but that if sur:gery was required, his acting career could have ended.

The surgeon warned Douglas that he might lose part of his tongue and jaw.

Douglas gave a sh0cking interview to the Guardian two years after his recovery, in which he revealed more about his battle with can:cer, including the cause.

He told the newspaper that oral ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴄᴏᴜʀsᴇ was the “cause” of tongue can:cer because HPV (human papillomavirus), a se..xually transmitted dis:ease, causes can:cer.

Despite his openness in the interview, the star felt forced to clarify his remarks following a public outpouring of wrath.

Later, Douglas’ spokesperson told CNN that the actor did not entirely blame his can:cer on HPV because he smoked and drank. According to the official statement:

“Michael Douglas never claimed that ᴄᴜɴɴɪʟɪɴɢᴜs caused his can:cer.” Although experts in the narrative recognized that oral s…ex is likely to contribute to some mouth can:cers, he did not expressly claim that oral s..ex caused his illness.

Douglas was diagnosed with stage 4 can:cer when a “walnut-sized growth” at the base of his tongue was discovered. He then began an eight-week intense tr3atment of chemotherapy and radiation.

“What a wild ride. That can really wear you out,” he told the Guardian.

“Plus, the amount of chemotherapy I was receiving erased all the good stuff. It made me quite weak.”

According to the Centers for Dis:ease Control and Prevention, just half of patients diagnosed with oral cancer survive five years after their diagnosis. The most common cause of this is a delayed diagnosis.

It’s critical to detect the warning signs and symptoms of tongue can:cer, according to Cancer Research UK, because it can develop on both the oral tongue, or the part that sticks out, and the base of the tongue.

Between changing diapers, breastfeeding her sweet bundle of joy, and soothing him to sleep, she could barely find the time to eat anything.

It was her mother-in-laws who was supposed to look after the dinner, and Jenna felt at least she wouldn’t spend much time in the kitchen. However, one night, as she put the baby to sleep and went downstairs, she noticed there wasn’t any food left for her.

Her MIL said, “Well, you didn’t come down, so we assumed you weren’t hungry.” These words cut deeper than Jenna’s actual hunger.

Things became worse turn when John didn’t react at his mom’s words. He demanded Jenna to clean the mess and wash the dishes, saying she wasn’t doing anything anyway.

Jenna was wounded so deep that she finally decided to confront John and his mother. But they accu:sed her of being lazy and started yelling at her.

Unable to tolerate how they tre:ated her, Jenna took some of her clothes, her baby, and went to her mother’s place.

Then, John called frequently her on the phone, demanding that she apologize to his mother. He wasn’t able to see the emotional toll his mother’s presence and his lack of support did Jenna.

She was heartbroken and couldn’t see a way out until she thought of contacting the one person in the family who was always very realistic and reasonable; her father-in-law.

After she contacted him, he was totally unaware of what was going on but was very supportive and told her to get ready because he was taking her back home.

When they arrived at Jenna’s place, they saw John and his mother watching TV together and laughing.

He turned to his wife and said, “It was enough. You did a lot of damage and it’s time you return home. You are no longer staying with John and Jenna.” The MIL didn’t object.

He then turned to John and said he should be more supportive of his wife who had only given birth to their son five weeks ago. John, ashamed, agreed.

Day by day, things seemed to chill out.

When the MIL visited, she was in deed helping around the house, and her visits were brief. John became more present and supportive, taking an active role in caring for their son and helping with household tasks.
