Following the Princess of Walesâs recuperation from the cancer she was diagnosed with in early 2024, Prince William and Kate Middleton have not taken many trips in the past year. As a senior working member of the Royal Family, they will eventually have to commit to more travels away from their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but this has meant more time with their kids.
The pandemic gave William and Kate the opportunity to spend more time with their kids and spared them from having to travel overseas for a year or two. While Prince Louis is still awaiting his first vacation, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already accompanied them on a few of their travels.
Even though the Prince and Princess of Wales havenât been separated from their kids for a long time, leaving them must be difficult for them, just like it is for any parent. A royal expert claims that Kate Middleton has battled these emotions frequently, and that on a 2022 international tour, they became intolerable.
Representing the Royal Family both domestically and occasionally abroad is a significantâif not the most significantâaspect of being a senior member. On numerous occasions, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been abroad on various missions, sometimes even bringing their two oldest children along. Meanwhile, Prince Louis has yet to go on his first royal tour.
Fortunately, there are many people available to assist William and Kate in caring for the kids when they arenât travelling abroad with their parents. Their nanny, Maria Borrallo, is always available, but so are other family members, especially Kateâs side. Carole and Michael Middleton, her parents, have consistently provided for their daughter and her siblings. And naturally, they were overjoyed to become grandparents.
Carole and Michael are busy raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, in addition to Kateâs sister Pippa Middletonâs three children and brother Jamesâs infant son. According to reports, they spend a lot of time with their grandparents, who reside close to Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire.
Carole and Michael Middleton played a vital part in providing care for George, Charlotte, and Louis while Kate was recuperating at home from her illness treatment. One insider told People Magazine, âHer parents are an enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren.â âAnd when she returns to Windsor to recover, they will be a comforting presence.â One extremely fortunate aspect of George, Charlotte, and Louisâs big family is that they have so many cousins to play with.
James Middleton, Kateâs brother, wrote in The Telegraph that George, Charlotte, and Louis are excellent at keeping their toddler, Indigo, content because they frequently play with him.
Each royal sibling âplays their role in looking after Inigo,â he claimed. âThere are currently seven of them (cousins) in total,â James stated. Theyâre all impressed, I believe, by how much of a mess Inigo can create. However, there is a lot of giggles and laughs.
Prince George has a very clear plan for the future: he will become king one day. However, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will have different responsibilities within the Royal Family. They are comparable to Prince Harry since they are the siblings of a future monarch.
Indeed, Prince William and Kate Middleton are well aware of that, according to royal analyst Jennie Bond, and are taking steps to prevent Charlotte and Louis from viewing themselves as âspares,â as their uncle did. âThey have already demonstrated that they raise royal children in a unique and contemporary manner, and I have no doubt that they will stop at nothing to ensure that Charlotte and Louis feel just as special, cherished, and appreciated as George did.â Bond told the Mirror.
Theyâll probably encourage Louis to venture outside the royal family. After his studies are over, he may choose to serve in the military, work for a nonprofit, or pursue any other career path that interests him. They will undoubtedly persuade him to enrol in university, which they both loved and where they naturally found love.
âAnd from there they will want him to find a life that is meaningful to him as well as appropriate for the son of a future King,â the royal expert went on. As they have emphasised from the beginning that they want their children to understand that having empathy for others is not only a kindness but also rewarding, they will work to make sure he feels that he is leading a life of value, regardless of where he stands in the line of succession. This will likely entail some form of service.
William and Kate might inspire Louis to explore other interests and discover his passion outside of the royal life, as Bond said. If he chooses to stay in the royal family, he will probably be given a prominent senior position in the monarchy along with key titles. Bond is not alone, though, in thinking that Louis might be able to undertake more than merely royal engagements.
According to Yahoo, royal analyst and The Telegraph associate editor Camilla Tominey stated in an interview with OK! that Prince William and Kate Middleton will want Charlotte and Louis to âhave their own careersâ if they so want.
The Telegraph quoted her as saying, â[William & Kate] donât want history to repeat itself and Prince Louis seem like a royal hanger-on and go down the Duke of York path.â She said, âA lot of the smaller royals have their own careers, so they arenât really being funded by taxpayers.â âThe degree to which the Cambridges have attempted to normalise their childrenâs lives strongly suggests that, while Prince George has his future planned out, Princess Charlotte and Louis are pursuing their own careers.â
âThey need to strike a balance between their royal obligations and what their own children wish to do with their lives,â Tominey said.
