Eva Longoria and Her Family Have Moved Overseas, She Reveals

Eva Longoria has expressed her concern and worry for Americans who are unable to “escape” what she describes as a “dystopian country” following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory.

“What’s shocking isn’t that he won,” Longoria shared with Marie Claire in a November cover story interview conducted just two days after Trump’s presidential win.

“It’s the fact that someone with a criminal record and so much hate-filled rhetoric could attain the highest office,” said Longoria, who actively campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris and delivered a speech at the Democratic National Convention in August.

“The fight isn’t over,” the Desperate Housewives actress said, remaining hopeful. However, she added, “If he follows through on his promises, it’s going to create a frightening reality.”

The Flamin’ Hot director, who hails from Texas, has long balanced her life between homes in Spain and Mexico, according to the article.

Long before the pandemic in 2020, Longoria noticed that the U.S. “was already changing” and that the “energy felt different.”

“Then Pandemic came along, and it pushed things to the breaking point,” she explained. “Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes—though I don’t mean to criticize California—it feels like this chapter of my life has come to an end.”

“I’m fortunate,” the 49-year-old actress said. “I have the ability to leave and start fresh elsewhere. Most Americans don’t have that luxury. They’re stuck in what feels like a dystopian reality, and my heart aches for them.”
